Super Smash Bros Party

I've been a very busy mama these past few weeks preparing for my oldest son's 9th Birthday party. He is a big time gamer, so it wasn't a surprise that he chose a Super Smash Bros theme. We worked together (with the help of Pinterest) to come up with a bunch of fun snacks and treats. I made everything myself to keep costs down.
I'm not a baker so the Kirby cookies were the first time I have made sugar cookies from scratch and the first time I have used Royal icing.  It wasn't as difficult as I imagined, but getting the right consistency was a challenge. They turned out super cute and tasted delicious! The toad pops were also a challenge to make, but turned out adorable in the end. These, on the other hand, were just way too sweet even for the kids. We threw almost all of them away after the party.
The favors were water bottles I got from the Dollar Spot at Target. I used my Silhouette Cameo to design and cut the vinyl stickers. I loved being able to customize them with each child's name and the Super Smash Bros logo.
The background was created using this tutorial. It took me a couple hours to create because I am a perfectionist and kept tweaking it. First I cut the strips to thick and had to re-cut them all, then I realized that there was just too much space at the top, so I un-braided and each section and cut them up a bit higher before re-braiding. The next day my thighs burned from doing so many squats lol.
Alex found this Mega Gengar hat and fell in love. We ordered it from this shop on Etsy expecting it to be delivered a week after his actual birthday (the seller hand makes each hat and ships from Guatemala), but we were surprised when the mail rang our door bell minutes before the first guests arrived and handed him the package! It is super awesome, great quality and came way faster then expected.
For the actual party we set up a projector and the kids played Super Smash Bros on the Wii U and jumped on the trampoline. I didn't want to over schedule with a bunch of specific games and I think the kids really enjoyed just playing together while munching on fun food.
After the party we were all pooped! Jossy and Weston both passed out in random places. I guess they had a lot of fun at their big brother's party!

Freebie Friday: Like A Boss!

Minecraft is very popular right now. My almost 9 year old son plays with his friends all the time. When he isn't playing he is watching YouTubers play or talk about Minecraft. I don't mind it at all because I see the value in the game. I don't play, but my husband does and helps run a server for our Homeschool group. Some of my most popular invitations have been Minecraft themed and we have personally attended several Minecraft themed birthday parties. For this weeks free printable I decided to take my most popular Minecraft design and alter it to create an image that would be an awesome addition to any gamer's room. Check it out!

Freebie Friday: Hello Sunshine!

Spring is here! I live in Arizona, so actually it has been here for awhile for us, in fact its almost summer feeling already, but I know for my family in snowy states the sunshine is welcome. I decided for this weeks printable to create something fun to celebrate the sunshine.

This print is sized for an 8 x 10 frame but could easily be enlarged to fit an 11 x 14 or whatever size you needed. Print it out at home or take it to a printer for a larger size. Download it here.

Teddy Bear Picnic Themed Birthday Party

One of the only things I remember from my Kindergarten days was when we had Teddy Bear Picnic. We all brought our favorite stuffed animals and had snacks on the floor of the classroom while we listened to the song:
"If you go down to the woods today
You're sure of a big surprise.
If you go down to the woods today
You'd better go in disguise!
For every bear that ever there was
Will gather there for certain,
Because today's the day the
Teddy Bears have their picnic."
Needless to say when I was first asked to make a Teddy Bear Picnic themed invitation I was super excited.
Over a year later and this particular invitation is by far my best seller. I have created many different versions of this invite through customizations. I have done everything from color changes to making it a Bear Hunt, and a Bow Tie themed picnic party. It really is such a cute and classic theme for a little one's birthday party.

The theme is so popular I also created printable party supplies to match the invitation. Seen below is the classic red, but I have them available in pink and blue.

Pennant Banner
Candy Wrapper, Full size, Mini and Kiss Stickers
Cupcake Toppers and Straw Flags
Thank You Cards and Welcome Sign
Food Labels, Treat Bag Toppers and Water Bottle Labels
All of my Teddy Bear picnic designs are available for purchase here.  I offer all the printable supplies as a package on my site, but all items can also be purchased separately. Contact me for a quote on a custom package.

Freebie Friday (but on a Saturday)!

It's my first FREEBIE FRIDAY! Of course today is actually Saturday. You see when both adults are self employed and you homeschool the days can kind of mix together. I completely forgot yesterday was Friday, but I still want to post my first free printable, so I am doing it on Saturday. It's the thought that counts right? Reminds me of the Lego Movie "Today will be called Freedom Friday, but still on a Tuesday!". Anyways...

With Easter  a week away I decided to make a cute Easter printable:

Download your FREE Easter printable here.

This image is sized for a 5x7 print. Throw it in a frame for a super cute addition to your Easter decor.

I hope you like it!

ONEderland First Birthday Party

One of my most popular invitations has been my Join us in ONEderland first birthday invitation. I originally created it for my own daughter's first birthday. She is the cutie featured in my sample.

I had so much fun planning her party. It started when she was just 6 months old. I knew I wanted to do the Alice in ONEderland theme and being on a pretty tight budget, I scoured thrift stores and yard sales for all my accessories. I made a lot of the other decorations and the two outfits she wore. Her amazing pictures were taken by my friend Brenna of Brenna Leigh Photography. The party consisted of an spread of sweet treats and watching the Disney Animated Alice in Wonderland on a projector in the backyard. I t was an amazing time, almost 3 years later and I have yet to top this party!

First Post!

After 16 months, 729 sales, 107 five star reviews (100% positive feedback) Etsy has shut down my shop. Just when I felt like I was doing well and making some money to help support my family. To a point I understand why it happened. It is still frustrating how Etsy just picks and chooses who can and can't sell. I would argue that at least half (if not more) of the shops on Etsy are violating a copyright in one way or another.  But, that is neither here nor there. It is time for me to move on to bigger and better things.

This blog will feature my items for sale as well as free printables every Friday. I am excited for my new journey.

Thank you for your support.
